DiluteNZ
What is in the name?
Someone once said that a White Shepherd is just a black and tan that has been diluted.
I stole that and added NZ on the end since I live in New Zealand.
Some years ago I was on a pet show with my dogs and got approached by an elderly couple.
The wife asked if her husband who was blind could touch my dogs,
-Off course he could!
He touched the dog and his wife asked: “Well, what kind of dog is it”?
The husband said: “German shepherd”.
His wife said: “Darling it is white”!
The story was that the man had had German shepherds, both when he had sight and when he was blind, and his wife just wanted him to know that it was a white one.
There is no difference; a shepherd is a shepherd no matter colour!
We live on New Zealand’s north island on a lifestyle block and have a few animals.
Steers, horse, sheep, cats, Chinese silkie chooks, white doves, turtle, gold fish and off course dogs!
A home without dogs is no home!
We have, during our lives, had many different breeds of dogs. Cocker Spaniel, Springer Spaniel, Irish Setters, Dandie Dinmont Terrier and German Shepherds.
We have had a few litters but never on a commercial scale since that is not what it is about!
German Shepherd is the ultimate dog!
Tough and robust and keen to learn.
An all-round dog for all your needs as a family companion, agility, obedience, fly ball, working shepherd or watchdog/security/avalanche dog/blind dog/hearing aid dog,,name it a GS can do it!
